Modeling

I just checked out my friend's page, Lorelai-Oksana, as I always do, and I realized that she had modeling in her JOURNAL thing and I thought, "Oh duh! I should make sure people know more about the modeling!"

I have been modeling and acting for YEARS now, but I've only been involved in the "adult side" of modeling since I turned 18 in July of 2006, obviously. I am a professional photographer, hair/makeup artist, set designer and semi-professional actress. I have over 6 years of classic/modern training in theatre which includes the hair, makeup, and set design work. I have an extensive resume and I will be more than happy to share that with anyone interested in hiring me. Along with that resume are a TON of references from clients that are more than willing to sing my praises? WHY? Because I've made a lot of clients a LOT of money! I'm a hard worker, I get things done fast without sacrificing quality, and I've learned more about my business in a year than some models do after 10 years because I take every opportunity to soak up information like a sponge! I know a few models that are just as good, but I have also worked with many models that just can't grasp responsibility or the concept of hard work.

I've worked through migraines without making a peep, I've gotten off of 4-hour plane trips only to shoot 40 sets of pictures (in just a few hours) as soon as I stepped foot inside the door to where I was shooting! I set out everything the night before, I wake up early, and the only time I will EVER stop is every couple of hours when I have to have a nibble on a powerbar or something! I've worked hours from 9 in the morning to 11 p.m. with an hour "break" in between, and I show no signs of slacking. I may not be desperate for money right now, but I still see every minute during a shoot as an opportunity to make more for myself and, importantly, for the CLIENT.

Even if you're hard to please, I doubt you will have a problem working with me. I'm particular without being a brat, I'm laid-back without being unprofessional, and I don't mind sharing the spotlight with another beautiful woman :) Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I look forward to working with more talented photographers/models! Au revoir!

Sincerely,
Jillian H. Bean

Lights, Camera, No Action?

This week has been UBER frustrating for me. I've been spending money left and right on my new lighting equipment and it seems that every time I purchase something I have to get something new to supplement THAT purchase. I've had to buy a new hot-shoe adapter, and it was the wrong kind and they won't take it BACK, so I'm selling it on eBay, I get a new one, works great, but the lights are WAY too strong so I thought, "Hey, what the hell? What's another $300?" so I'm having to buy 2 new softboxes. In the midst of spending about $800 in the past MONTH on lighting equipment, my main camera (The EOS Digital Rebel XTi) just STOPPED focusing. The detachable lens part has gotten "sticky" in how it moves and the internal mechanism has shifted slighty SIDEWAYS, seemingly out of NOWHERE. I still have a warranty, but until I fix this thing I can't shoot anymore pics for my site! I am quite upset because I use that camera EVERY DAY, several times a day!

Then I go to the doctor and realize a problem with one of my major internal organs has come BACK after a 2 year "remission," and I have an ultrasound next week to examine everything further. Problem? My health insurance ran out 4 weeks ago. Within a week I've racked up $250 in doctors visits and now this visit to radiology is going to be another $175 and that is DISCOUNTED because my mother is friends with all of those doctors because they worked together for YEARS in the same hospital. Then, because of all of the pain, I've been popping ibuprofen left and right and have managed to create an ENORMOUS stomach ulcer from it. So now my chest continuously feels like there's an elephant sitting on it and that elephant just happens to be ON FIRE. I hate complaining, but this really sucks!

Oh, and my parents now have another pregnant cat... So if you know someone out there that needs some adorable kittens, they're all over the place and we need some people to adopt them because we REFUSE to send them to the Humane Society here. They are cute, but cats are so prevalent in my community that they would likely be euthanized :(

So I'm scared about my health right now, and I hate it because I'm a healthy person, but this isn't something I can control. I hate not being able to work, I hate talking about this stuff because I feel like I'm COMPLAINING and being a WIMP, and I hate that my brother is moving to North Carolina :( Guh. I know I'll feel better soon, but I needed some "venting" time while editing some pics. It's not that often a positive person likes me goes on what I call a "crampage," which is a mixture of stomach pain and ranting :)

Thanks for reading about my boring life!
